DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Yes. I am currently an in-network provider for:
• BCBS PPO
• BCBS HMO - Amita (formerly Presence) sites
• Magellan Behavioral Health
If you have a policy for which I am considered an out-of-network provider, I would love to help you with the process of obtaining out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company so that you can receive benefit coverage for our visits.
WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY?
I see clients on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. My hours on Mondays and Thursdays are from 9 am until 8 pm and on Tuesday they are from 9 am until 5 pm. Most of my clients make standing weekly appointments.
DO YOU TREAT COUPLES AND FAMILIES TOO?
My education, training, and background are primarily in modalities and techniques used in individual therapy. I consider myself best equipped to assist clients via one-on-one work. I would be happy to try to assist those seeking couple's and/or family therapy in finding a therapist from among the many skilled family and couple's practitioners in the area.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Each session is 60 minutes long. It is preferable that we meet on a weekly basis until we see sustained symptom improvement.
WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND?
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Northwestern University in 1999. I returned to Northwestern to earn my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology in 2004. My training and post-graduate experiences have primarily been in working with individuals in community mental health, inpatient hospital, and private practice settings. I have also spent some time working with groups, families, and couples in in-home therapy and EAP settings. I am a native Spanish speaker and have been able to provide psychotherapy services in Spanish to clients throughout my career. In 2019, I received my certification in Perinatal Mood Disorders (PMH-C) from the global organization Postpartum Support International.
